Over
the course of his distinguished thirty-five year career as a photographer,
Richard Howard has traveled the globe making photographs for a remarkable
list of editorial, corporate and nonprofit clients. Richards
life as a photographer began at Columbia University during the Vietnam
War, when pictures he had taken for Columbias student newspaper
were published in Life, as well as European magazines. |

After earning an MFA in Photography from the
Rhode Island School of Design, Richard was based for a time in New
York and Washington, and now lives and works in the Boston area.
Richards photographs have been published in Smithsonian,
Newsweek, PC World, Business Week, The Chronicle
of Higher Education and People. A primary focus of his
work has been his outstanding photography for nonprofit organizations,
including the Boston Foundation (for which he has served as principal
photographer for seventeen years), for Boston Childrens Hospital,
MIT, Wellesley College and WGBH Television.
