Richard Howard
Photographer

Over the course of his distinguished thirty-five year career as a photographer, Richard Howard has traveled the globe making photographs for a remarkable list of editorial, corporate and nonprofit clients. Richard’s life as a photographer began at Columbia University during the Vietnam War, when pictures he had taken for Columbia’s student newspaper were published in Life, as well as European magazines.

After earning an MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design, Richard was based for a time in New York and Washington, and now lives and works in the Boston area. Richard’s photographs have been published in Smithsonian, Newsweek, PC World, Business Week, The Chronicle of Higher Education and People. A primary focus of his work has been his outstanding photography for nonprofit organizations, including the Boston Foundation (for which he has served as principal photographer for seventeen years), for Boston Children’s Hospital, MIT, Wellesley College and WGBH Television.
