Barbara
Hindley has written five plays and three screenplays. With
grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National
Endowment for the Humanities, four of her plays were produced
in Boston, including Tale Without Beginning or End, Hard Edges,
Through the Mirror, and A Strong Woman Is…. Two of her plays were
dubbed "Best of Boston" by the Boston Phoenix. Her
fourth play, Iron Slippers, was produced in New York City.
Tale Without Beginning or End was adapted for National Public
Radio by WGBH.
Her screenplay Room at the Inn (on which her novel Grace is based),
won the Practical Paradox Screenplay Competition, was the top finalist
in the Worldfest/Houston Film Festival Awards, and a finalist in
the Massachusetts Film Office Screenwriting Competition.
Grace is her first novel.
Barbara is also Creative Director of Elements
Communications for Positive Change and an award-winning editor, writer, and strategic
communications consultant, working primarily with foundations and
nonprofit organizations.
